DAVENPORT, Iowa, May 25, 2023 — Von Maur Department Store announced today its plans to open a 90,000-square-foot store at West Acres Mall in Fargo, N.D. Scheduled to open in Spring 2025, this will be the first Von Maur location in North Dakota as the family-owned company’s national growth strategy continues to build.
Known for its outstanding selection of brand name and specialty apparel, shoes, accessories, and gifts, the store will feature products from leading brands such as Bobbi Brown, Peter Millar, TravisMathew, Hammitt, Lilly Pulitzer and Kendra Scott, among many others. Beyond its exceptional selection, Von Maur is also widely regarded for its superior customer service, including an interest-free charge card, flexible return policy, free gift wrapping, and complimentary shipping services. A true testament to the dedication of Von Maur’s outstanding people, compelling products, and loyal customers, the company was named the top department store in the country by Newsweek’s “America’s Best Retailers 2022.” The company was also recently honored by the Accessories Council as the “2023 Retailer of the Year” for its strong commitment to customer service, curated product assortments, and reputation of being great industry partners.

Construction of the Von Maur store will begin in Summer 2023, and will feature the company’s signature residential ambiance, original artwork, an open floor plan and music from the store’s grand piano. Conveniently accessible from Interstate 29 and Interstate 94 in the heart of Fargo, Von Maur will be an anchor tenant at West Acres Mall, adding to the enticing mix of retailers already on display at the city’s long-established retail and entertainment hub. It is expected that the store will eventually employ 125 associates – the majority of which will be full-time. Once open, this store will represent Von Maur’s second investment at West Acres Mall in Fargo. In 2018, the company opened its popular Dry Goods store, a youthful, feminine, contemporary women’s apparel and accessories retailer. The success of Dry Goods gave the company additional confidence to continue investing in the area.
