The first-ever Freeze Out for Fisher House will take place February 6th and 7th here at West Acres!
The event raises awareness for Fisher House North Dakota, which will provide a free “home away from home” for families of veterans receiving care at the Fargo VA Health Care System. The Fisher House will serve all of North Dakota, 18 counties in Minnesota, and one county in South Dakota.
Events begin Friday at 9 a.m. with a flag raising using a 150-foot crane, featuring the U.S. flag and the Combat Veterans Motorcycle Association flag. Following the ceremony, there will be a drive-through coffee and cookie event where visitors can learn more about Fisher House and visit with volunteers.
Several veterans will sleep outside for 48 hours to help raise awareness for the project.
Fisher House North Dakota will be a 13,400-square-foot facility with 16 suites and is expected to serve approximately 23,000 family members each year.
Stop by Friday and Saturday to show your support, drive through for coffee and cookies, and learn more about how Fisher House helps military families.
