Artist-in-Residence Meghan Duda

Step inside a world of light, perception, and photography with artist-in-residence Meghan Duda, now at West Acres.

Specializing in pinhole photography and camera obscura, Meghan’s work explores one of the earliest discoveries in image-making. A camera obscura—Latin for “dark room”—uses a small opening to project the outside world onto an interior surface, creating a live image that appears upside down and moves in real time.

Visitors can experience this fascinating phenomenon firsthand while learning how artists, scientists, and inventors have used camera obscuras for centuries. From its ancient origins over 2,000 years ago to its role in shaping modern photography, the camera obscura offers a unique look at the science of light and the history of visual storytelling.

This immersive installation transforms an everyday view into an experience.

Stop by West Acres and discover Meghan Duda’s incredible work for yourself.
