When: May 9th, 10am – 2pm
Where: Fountain Court
On May 9, 2026, the Fountain Court at West Acres Shopping Center will transform into an interactive portrait studio as Community Collage brings its nationally recognized public art project to Fargo.
Led by founder Josh Madson—a photographer known for his striking black-and-white portrait style—this free pop-up invites community members to step in front of the camera and become part of something larger. Each participant will receive two professional digital portraits on the spot, while also contributing to a collective mural that will represent the people and spirit of the Fargo-Moorhead region.
This is a chance to be included in a large-scale public art installation that celebrates identity, belonging, and community pride. Madson’s work has grown into a nationwide movement, capturing thousands of individuals and turning their stories into powerful visual experiences displayed in prominent public spaces.
Whether you’re coming for the experience, the art, or simply to be seen, this event offers a rare opportunity to take part in a meaningful project that will be unveiled in connection with TEDxFargo 2026.
