To Our Community:

COVID-19 WEEKLY UPDATE: With the continued progression of COVID-19, and in keeping the health and safety of our community as our highest priority, we will be extending the temporary closure of West Acres through at least April 30th.

These times are unprecedented, and it is more important than ever for us all to come together to support one another and do the right thing – for the wellbeing of our community, and beyond.

We are so grateful for the people that make up West Acres – our team members, partners, store employees, visitors, business partners, vendors, and more. Without all of you, there would be no us. We want you to know we’re here for you, and it is our job to ensure a vibrant shopping center can welcome you back when this is over. As we’ve said, there is no greater joy for us than to create a space for our community and region to gather. We will get through this together. Until then, stay healthy & stay safe.

CLOSING ANNOUNCEMENT

UPDATE: 3/18/2020 at 7:00pm

To Our Community:

As we have continued to watch the progression of COVID-19 in our region, and in keeping the health and safety of our customers, tenants, and staff as our utmost priority, we have chosen to temporarily close West Acres. The closure will be in effect as of 6pm on Thursday, March 19th and will currently last through March 31st, 2020.

We respect the recommendations from North Dakota Governor, Doug Burgum, to close community gathering spaces. It is our responsibility to do our part to help slow the spread of COVID-19 by closing our doors temporarily. We feel it is the best decision for our community, our tenants, and our team members.

West Acres has been a destination for our region and beyond for the past 47 years not only as a place to shop and dine, but a place for people to come together. We strive to set the standard as to what a shopping destination and a community gathering space should be, and in this time of uncertainty that is no different. We must come together to support one another, and make the right decisions to keep our community, our region, and beyond, safe. Tomorrow we’ll close, but we will be back. There is no greater joy for us than to create a space for our community and region to gather, and we look forward to doing so again soon.

We are so grateful for our community, our tenants, and our team. We know we will get through these uncertain times together.

With gratitude,

Brad Schlossman
CEO, West Acres

Special Note: Essentia & West Acres Pharmacy will be open during the closure and can be accessed through the Roger Maris entrance. Please contact these businesses for hours & details.

PUBLIC STATEMENT FROM 3/12/2020

At West Acres, the health and safety of our guests, tenants and employees is always our top priority.

There is growing concern about the Coronavirus (COVID-19), and along with you, we are monitoring the situation closely. We are following the CDC and World Health Organization for updates and guidance, and we are in touch with local and regional officials regarding the matter.

The situation is changing rapidly and we will continue to monitor and make decisions on a daily basis. As it develops, we will continue to keep the public informed of updates from West Acres.

We do not take our role in our community lightly. West Acres is home to over 100 businesses, of which more than 30 are locally owned. Every decision we make impacts thousands of people. As of today, West Acres will remain open; however, there will be changes in our overall operation of the mall. We are taking additional safety measures including in our cleaning procedures, and as a cautionary step we are cancelling scheduled events through the remainder of March. Our stores are also being given the power to adjust their operations, including being open or closed, based on what is right for them.

The cleanliness of West Acres is one of the key pillars of our company. Our team works hard daily to ensure the mall is kept to the highest standard of cleanliness. In addition to our normal cleaning routines, we have taken measures to ramp up our efforts to be even more frequent, specifically in high traffic areas. Guests will also find hand sanitizer stations throughout the mall.

The CDC recommends everyday preventive actions to avoid the spread of respiratory disease – wash your hands frequently and distance yourself from those who are coughing or sick. We are empowering our team members to stay home if they are ill or may have been exposed to COVID-19.
Our retailers and restaurants have individual measures they are taking to ensure the safety of their employees and customers including asking employees to stay home when sick. We support them in their efforts.

Lastly and importantly, if you, our valued customer, are not feeling well or feel you may have been exposed to COVID-19, we ask that you please stay home for your own wellbeing and that of your fellow community members.

We will continue to post updates on our website (westacres.com) as the situation evolves. If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to reach out.

We are grateful for you and your shared efforts to keep yourself and our community safe.
