We’ve given you a peek at our fall lookbook, we’ve talked about the popular colors, and now we are going to dive into one of our favorite parts of fall fashion: the prints and textures you’ll be seeing on the racks this season!

From lace to leather, we narrowed down the list to 7 trending prints and textures you’ll want to stock up on (and our favorite ways to wear them).

1. Leopard Print

We wish we were the first ones to say “as far as I’m concerned, leopard print is a neutral” because we couldn’t agree more! This print is so versatile and can work in combination with other prints such as floral and stripes. Leopard print seemed to have taken a step back last fall, but we are excited to see it make a comeback (let’s be honest: it’s dominating) this year. You’ll see this print in anything from tops, to handbags and shoes!

Our Favorite Ways to Wear:

  • Leopard print blouse, burgundy blazer, black skinny jeans, and heels
  • All black ensemble with leopard print heels or flats
  • Black and white stripe top, distressed jeans, booties, and a leopard print scarf

2. Suede

Suede has been around for quite some time, making appearances in both spring and fall, but this fall season it is stepping up its game with different colors and pieces. The great thing about suede is that anyone can wear it, and with so many suede pieces to choose from this season, you’re sure to find a way to wear it with your wardrobe. You’ll also want to stock up on suede’s sister – velvet!

Our Favorite Ways to Wear:

  • Suede sleeveless vest, turtleneck sweater dress, and tall boots
  • Fitted sweater, snap-front suede skirt, and booties
  • Suede dress, leather jacket, and heels

3. Floral

We get so giddy when we see that floral prints are going to make an appearance long after spring and summer are over. If you want to flirt with floral, fall is your chance – this print is everywhere! From dainty buds to bold blossoms, there is a floral print for whatever look you’re after.

Our Favorite Ways to Wear:

  • Tank, leggings, long floral cardigan or kimono, and tall boots
  • Long sleeve floral print dress, floppy hat, and booties
  • Slouchy sweater, floral skirt, tights, and heels

4. Leather

No surprised here – leather has claimed it’s stake as a staple for fall and we have no complaints! Just as it dominates the racks, it is sure to take over your wardrobe in anything from handbags, to shoes, to skirts and leggings.

Our Favorite Ways to Wear:

  • Leather jacket, graphic tee, big knit scarf, jeans, and sneakers
  • Turtleneck sweater. leather skirt, and heels
  • Over-sized sweater, leather leggings, and booties

5. Lace & Embroidery

Sneaking it’s way past spring are lace and embroidery details to give your wardrobe a little romance. Mostly shown in tops and skirts, this textured touch adds just the right amount of detail to an outfit.

Our Favorite Ways to Wear:

  • Lace bralette, over-sized sweater, jeans, and booties
  • Lace tunic tank, cropped sweater, skinny jeans, and flats (great for a peek-a-boo look!)
  • Matching lace two-piece set (top and skirt) with heels

6. Plaid

When you think of fall, you probably think of plaid (at least in our neck of the woods), and although plaid isn’t going to be as dominant as it has been in past falls, it is still making its annual appearance. If you’re clued into the 90’s-inspired flair that fall is taking on, you may be surprised by a few new pieces plaid has taken to – we’re talking two-piece plaid sets (Clueless flashbacks, anyone?).

Our Favorite Ways to Wear:

  • Plaid button-up, puffy vest, jeans, and booties
  • Knit dress, plaid blanket scarf, and tall boots
  • Long sleeve tee, plaid skirt, tights, and heels (for if you’re not quite ready to take on the two-piece trend)

7. High-Shine

Hey there, metallic – welcome to fall! Although we usually see all the sparkle and shine in our closets during the holiday season, metallics, sequins, and sparkles are making an earlier appearance this year. These pieces are sure to bring the glitz and glam, and we are so ready to jump on board with this statement style! You’ll see high-shine in sweaters, skirts, shoes, and accessories (of course!).

Our Favorite Ways to Wear:

  • Metallic pleated skirt, blouse, leather jacket, and booties
  • Over-sized sweater, leather leggings, and metallic shoes
  • Sparkle sweater, skinny jeans, and booties
