When it comes to beauty routines, it can be a blast to put together a personalized system, but it can also be time consuming and a little confusing until you find what works for you. We’ve been there, so we’re sharing all of our favorite tips and tricks that will help that inner lazy girl sleep in a little longer and cheat her way to looking awesome! Because who doesn’t like beauty hacks that save you time and money?

Here are some of our favorite beauty secrets…

1. Lighten up your foundation

Is your foundation looking a little too dark or has your tan faded away? Add a pea size amount of moisturizer to your foundation to thin it out and lighten it up! A great moisturizer to add is the lightweight Clinique Dramatic Difference Moisturizer that we found at Macy’s.

2. Beauty Blender trick

Love your Beauty Blender but sick of constantly cleaning it? Wrap your Beauty Blender in saran wrap before use, and buff onto face as usual. Once you’re done, throw away the saran wrap and your Beauty Blender will be clean and untouched! Beauty Blenders can be found at Sephora.

3. Say good-bye to regrowth

A little late to visiting the salon? We’ve been there and regrowth is the worst! We’ve discovered you can use either tinted dry shampoo or a color stick to cover up your roots or gray hairs! When using the dry shampoo, spray onto your part where your regrowth is showing and gently brush through with a comb or fingers to blend in. If using the color stick, section your hair and stroke on like a lipstick. Smudge in with fingers to blend and distribute. You’ll look as if you just left the salon! These both come in a range of colors, so you’re sure to find one that matches your hair. Our favorite tinted dry shampoo and color stick are from Bumble and Bumble, which can be found at Sephora.

4. Bed time lifesaver

Nothing is worse than getting all snuggled up in bed and realizing you forgot to take your makeup off. Clinique’s Take off the Day makeup wipes are a lifesaver when it comes to a quick clean up and we like to keep them right by our bedside! These wipes can be found at Macy’s.

5. Keep your matte lips soft

This year has been all about matte and liquid lipsticks, but sometimes they can end up drying your lips out (which none of us want). Rub a little lip balm on top after it’s dried and you’ll be re-hydrated and ready to go! Our go-to is the Rosebud lip balm, which can be found at either Sephora and Macy’s.

6. The key to precise brows

Having troubles getting that perfect shape to your brow? Learn how to find the correct measurements according to your own face shape by holding your eyebrow pencil up to your nose, like so!

  • To find your starting point, place pencil on the side of your nose vertically toward your brow and make a mark with your pencil.
  • To find where to place your arch, line your pencil diagonally from your nose through your pupil and make a mark.
  • To find you ending point, place diagonally from your nose, touching the corner of your eye, toward the end of your brow and make a mark.
  • Shape according to the marks and fill in!

7. Your perfect match

We know what a struggle it can be to find a foundation that actually matches your skin tone. Well, thanks to technology, Sephora has their very own color IQ! This little machine will take three scans of your face and color match you to every single foundation that is a perfect fit for you. Not to mention, you can get up to 3 free samples of anything you wish during each visit… well, you’ll know where to find us!
