Summer is almost here and we’ve filled our calendar with fun events for the whole family! As a part of our Kids Summer Series, we have a variety of activities for your kiddos going on all summer long – from art classes, to movie showings and story time. Get all the details below!
In partnership with United Way and Imagination Library, we present Story Squad, a weekly story time. Each week will feature a different story (or two!) read by a special guest from our community and other special events. PLUS, you get a free book to take home every week!
Thursdays in June & July, located in the West Acres Live Lounge (near center court)
June 7 at 9:30am – Daniel Tiger with Guest Reader, Officer Michael Bloom, Community Officer with Fargo Police Department
June 14 at 9:30am – Pete the Cat: Firefighter Pete with Guest, Reader, Captain Ron Guggisberg with Fargo Fire Department
- After storytime kids will be able to learn about all the fire gear firefighters wear and then head out to the parking lot for interaction with a fire truck!

Dress like your favorite super hero and join us at West Acres Cinema for make-your-own superhero masks, coloring, and free snacks! Then head into the theater to be one of the firsts to see the new movie!

We are so excited to welcome Make Room, an interactive art studio, to West Acres! They will be hosting a variety of art classes for kids grades K-12! Get all of the information on how your kiddos can join the fun, below…
DROP+SHOP ART STUDIO FOR KIDS
Drop your kids off for an hour, and get a chance to shop and run errands!
Cost: Drop-Off Art Studio is $15.00 for up to one hour for each child. Siblings are welcome, and the rate for each additional child is $8.00 for up to one hour. No registration is required, just drop by the studio to join in.
Tuesdays, anytime from 10:00am-4:00pm
*Kids must be age 5 and up in order to be dropped off at Make Room. Please additional listings for art making opportunities for kiddos under 5!

In Tiny Makers (recommended for ages 18 months-2.5 years), we often create 3-4 different stations for you and your child to visit. Each week, we present a new theme or idea to work with, and lots of different hands-on ways to explore that theme.

Monday June 11 – Thursday June 14, 9:00am-12:00pm
Kids: Join us in our studio for a week of abstract painting! The goal of the week is to HAVE FUN while becoming a more confident abstract painter.
Price is all-inclusive. Artists will receive a set of professional brushes to take home, as well as several completed abstract paintings on canvas and other surfaces, with at least one on a large professional canvas. All campers will receive a Camp T-Shirt.

It’s a big world out there. Let’s make our mark!
Teens in our Street Art Camp will learn about tons of different street artists, both locally and internationally, and become inspired to create their own stickers, spray paint stencils, and more.

Kids: Join us in our studio for a week of sculpting! Students in grades K-6 will create projects throughout the week that will help them realize their 3D potential!
We’ll try new things while exploring both additive and subtractive sculpture. Materials like clay, plaster, wire, and found objects will be at our fingertips throughout the week.

PUPPET CAMP (GRADES K-6)
Monday August 6th – Monday August 9th, 9:00am-12:00pm
Kids: Join us in our studio for a week of puppets! During this camp, we’ll learn about a few different types of puppets (marionettes, shadow puppets, stick puppets, and more) and create a few characters of our own.
We’ll learn a lot about new materials and some familiar ones as well. Fur, eyes, and beaks may play a role as students make a large marionette puppet that will impress all of their friends!
At the end of the week, invite your friends and family for a puppet performance using your newfound puppetry skills!
Price is all-inclusive. Artists will take home their completed puppets. All campers will receive a Camp T-Shirt.
