Kids Summer Series

If you’re traveling with little ones, our kid-friendly events calendar will keep the whole family busy! You can find all the details about our Kids Summer Series here, but below are just a few of our favorite events you can expect to see this summer.

STORY SQUAD

We’re excited to bring back Story Squad with United Way of Cass-Clay this summer – a story time held every Thursday at West Acres, featuring a new book and guest reader from our community each week. At the end of each event, the kids will be able to take home a book from Imagination Library.

Following every Story Squad event, a mini event or activity will take place from 10:00am-noon! Learn more about these events here.

This event is free & open to the public.

Who: Kids of all ages (books geared towards ages 5 & under)
What: Children’s story time
When: Thursdays from 9:30-10:00am
Where: Center Court (in front of Macy’s) at West Acres

FAMILY GAME NIGHT

Join Legacy Toys for a night full of family fun! Try out an abundance of games while enjoying time with family and friends in the Food Court.

Game Night will take place every 1st and 3rd Thursday of the month from 6-9pm.

Discover What’s New

We can’t wait for you to discover all the new stores, eateries, and experiences around West Acres this summer. Here are a few of the newest additions to West Acres that we’re excited for you to experience!

MINN DAK MARKET

Locally owned and operated, Minn Dak Market features a wide variety of goods that are all regionally-made in North Dakota, South Dakota, and Minnesota. You’ll find a rotating selection of goods like art, home decor, breads, meats, jams, books, wine, and so much more! Come say hello to this brand new store in their location in the JCPenney wing, in the old Gymboree and Beauteous Activewear space.

ICE POINT

Ice Point, the newest addition to our Food Court, opened in March. Find yummy treats like bubble tea, fruit tea, and smoothies, plus their fan-favorite Thai-style Hibachi rolled ice cream, which is as much of a show as it is a delicious treat! Watch the mesmerizing process as they turn liquid ice cream into beautifully decorated ice cream rolls, finished with all of the toppings you desire.

REAL GOOD BATH & BODY

Real Good Bath & Body was a pop-up store during our holiday season, and it now has a permanent kiosk location in the hallway between Gap and Dry Goods. Real Good features locally-made bath and body products that are made with the highest quality, good-for-you ingredients and none of the icky chemicals. Stop and smell their bath bombs, lotions, bath salts, face oils, and more!

CRAVE

CRAVE American Kitchen & Sushi Bar, opening this summer, is the first restaurant to join The District. This Minneapolis-based concept features fresh and innovative cuisine, a sushi bar, an award-winning wine list, and a chic yet casual atmosphere. CRAVE’s 7,000 square foot interior will be complemented by a three-season porch and an outdoor patio.

We are eagerly awaiting the warm summer evenings we’ll soak up on their patio! If you’re as excited as we are, you can see the construction project come to life on the north side of the mall, adjacent to Forever 21. Stay tuned for more announcements as their opening day gets closer!

APTITUDE

In April, we announced our exciting new collaboration with The Arts Partnership: Aptitude. Aptitude is a creative incubator, set to open this summer! Its 6,000 square foot space will feature 19 artist studios and a kiln room, which will be open to the public during set hours. We are excited for the opportunity Aptitude will offer artists for collaboration, and the ability it will give the community to interact with artists. Supporting local art is at the core of who we are, and we are absolutely thrilled to help bring Aptitude to life!
