Updates: What’s Up at West Acres

We’re almost a month into January and it’s safe to say this year is going to be anything but boring! As we look ahead to the months to come, we’re excited for the changes that are going to take place, the experiences we get to offer to our customers, and the updates we’ve been ready to make for a while now. Since we know you love to get the inside scoop, we’re here to give you an update on all the action that’s about to take place! Are you ready?

Nails Pro Expanding: Payless Closing

With the changes coming to the Best Buy Court (more on that soon!) in conjunction with the addition of CRAVE and The District, there are going to be some additional upcoming changes in store! One of these changes is the closure of Payless and the expansion of Nails Pro. Nails Pro will be completely remodeling and expanding into a portion of the old Payless space in order to offer an even greater experience to their customers. Although we don’t have an announcement at this time on what will go into the other portion of their space, we are confident that when the entire project is complete, it is going to be our new favorite place to hang in the mall.  Expect another announcement on this area of the mall in the coming months!

Apricot Lane Moving; Things Remembered Closing

Sometimes in the leasing process, in order to get stores to where they want to be and to introduce new stores to the area, a little musical chairs stores has to take place! Things Remembered has closed, and Apricot Lane will then move into that space, to provide a more curated collection of clothing and accessories and provide a better shopping experience to their customers.

So what about the Apricot Lane space? Things are currently in motion, we just can’t announce that quite yet! Stay tuned…

Ice Point Opening Late February/Early March

We announced back in November that Ice Point, a locally-owned and operated eatery will be joining the food court this winter – serving up Thai style hibachi ice cream, bubble tea, fruit tea, smoothies, and more. We’re happy to report construction is well underway in their space! We can’t wait to share more info on their opening date soon.

CRAVE Opening early Summer

One of our biggest announcement last year was that CRAVE American Kitchen & Sushi Bar will be one of the first restaurants to open in The District! We’ve been counting down the days, and we look forward to giving you exclusive glimpses into the construction, and updates on progress along the way. All we can say is, their beautiful patio and award-winning wine list are calling our names!

This is just the beginning of changes and new spaces to come, and we hope to be able to share more news really soon, including a fun new creative concept that will be located in a space you may not realize even exists (*wink wink*).

Although these changes bring about the opportunity for exciting new stores, we understand that change can also be hard, especially for those that may be losing their job or perhaps one of their favorite stores. You may remember this letter from our CEO back in 2017, and the same holds true today. Change is what propels us forward and gives us the ability to improve for you, our customers. Trust us when we say, the best is yet to come!
