Healthy Meals at West Acres

Who said you can’t have a satisfying (& healthy) meal at the mall? Whether you’re in need of a quick lunch or just trying to avoid making dinner, we found you options for when you’re looking for something delicious AND nutritious!

The food court is a quick and easy place to go if you need a pick-me-up after a long day of getting your shop on! Besides, if shopping is your cardio, you’re going to want to stick to those healthy habits ;).

We are all about these guilt-free options to help you refuel:

6 inch Turkey Breast Sandwich from Subway (370 calories or less)

Subway is a given when looking for a leaner meal in a short amount of time. Subway has all types of different bread options, vegetables, meats and cheeses. They even have a “fresh fit” menu that gives the option of leaner subs, such as their veggie delight, turkey breast, roast beef, sweet onion chicken teriyaki, and many others. It is best to eat these sandwiches with wheat bread, and light sauces. Another option at Subway is salads. They offer the freshest ingredients, and have different kinds of sauces to add on to them. A healthier option for a salad dressing at Subway is their sweet onion dressing, as it is fat free and full of flavor.

Mango Chicken Salad from Qdoba (around 370 calories)

Often times, Mexican food is not seen as the healthiest of choices, however, Qdoba offers a variety of fresh and healthy options. A healthy and delicious option is their Mango Salad. It is served in a tortilla bowl, with your choice of protein (healthiest option being grilled chicken), fresh romaine lettuce, zesty cilantro-lime dressing, and Qdoba’s very own home made mango salsa. Don’t forget! It’s all about what you choose to put on it – this salad can vary in calories from 150-800, depending on what kind of extras you add. We suggest choosing veggies, and staying light on the dressings and cheeses.

Veggie Melt from Rising Bread Co.

Rising Bread Company is another great option when searching for a healthier meal at the West Acres. They offer a variety of fresh salads and sandwiches that taste as good as they look. The Veggie Melt is perfect when looking for meal that not only tastes good, but that is also good for you. The Veggie Melt comes with your choice of grilled bread (we recommend wheat), your choice of vegetables and cheese, and their homemade dill sauce.

Classic Sirloin (6oz.) with Grilled Avocado from Chili’s  (410 calories)

Chili’s is another great option, not only because of their delicious food, but also because they offer a menu that is specifically for lighter choices. The wide variety of this menu ranges from flavorful chicken and steaks, to delicious fresh fish. When eating at Chili’s we recommend their 6 oz. Sirloin with grilled avocado. This tasty meal is served with spicy-citrus chili sauce, grilled avocado slices, garlic roasted tomatoes chopped cilantro, and a side Fresco Salad. The best part about this meal is that it is only 410 calories! How can you go wrong?

Grilled Chicken Avocado Wrap from Granite City

Granite City offers a wide variety of meals, appetizers and drinks. It’s the perfect place to eat when meeting up with friends and family. One of the many healthy options at Granite City includes their Blackened Salmon Salad. This flavorful and fresh salad is served with Arcadian blend greens, red onions, grape tomatoes, cucumber, blue cheese, and candied pecans. It is then topped with hand cut blackened Atlantic salmon, and mixed with a homemade low-fat, citrus vinaigrette. This salad makes your mouth water just looking at it. Granite City also has a great lunch menu that offers lighter choices. A popular choice includes their Grilled Chicken Avocado Wrap – it’s the no-guilt lunch choice for someone who is looking for a healthier option.

“Light” Orange Julius Smoothie (170 calories or less!)

We know… The sweet smells of Mrs. Field and Pretzelmaker scream “snack attack,” however, there are ways to curve that craving by indulging in healthier snack options; one option being a “Light” Orange Julius Smoothie. These smoothies are 1/3 less calories than a regular smoothie. There are no artificial sweeteners in them, and contain 170 calories, or less! Additional boosts can be added in, including a fiber boost, energy boost, and vitamin boost.

Greek Yogurt Fruit Bowl from Cinamen Roll Co.

Cinamen Roll Co. is obviously known for their delicious caramel rolls that fragrance the mall. However, they offer some healthier options for when you need a quick snack. Their fruit bowl is filled with fresh fruit and topped with Greek yogurt. This snack makes for the perfect refreshment on a hot, summer day.
