5 Can’t-Miss Photos Ops at West Acres this Holiday Season

With ribbons, greenery, and strings of lights everywhere we look, it’s no wonder the holiday season feels so magical around here. But this year, we thought we’d dress up even a few more spaces than usual (trust us, it’s not easy to find a corner that’s not already made beautiful by our Operations Team’s decorating).

From giant chalk wall art to the tiniest of trees, take a peek at the 5 photo ops that you won’t be able to resist snapping a photo with this season…

1. The Fountain Installation by Love Always

We can’t remember the last time we saw our Fountain of Abundance without a stunning aerial installation above it! For so many seasons now, Love Always Floral has worked their creative magic above our Fountain, and this holiday season is no exception. With rows upon rows of holly-adorned ribbons hanging in the air, the only thing that could make it more breathtaking would be strings of twinkle light surrounding it all. And of course, they did that, too.

Toss a coin in the fountain, or better yet – make a donation to the Salvation Army red kettle in front of the fountain – then snap a photo with this beautiful aerial installation, located directly in front of JCPenney.

2. Cozy Corner by Gathered

When the Gathered Rentals and Events team told us they had a vision for a cozy, cabin-like lounge space within the mall, we were so excited. And when a few weeks later we saw what they created, we were nearly speechless! From a custom-built wooden structure to hanging basket lights to hundreds of hand-painted paper cones lining the walls, the incredible detail and creative vision that this team carried out in this space still wows us every time we walk inside.

Stop into the Cozy Corner by Gathered, located between Wimmer’s Diamonds and Orange Julius, and enjoy a bit of R&R in this oasis of creative, cozy design. Our favorite photo spot in the space? Right underneath the wooden structure – there’s even a bench to sit on!

3. “Merry & Bright” Buffalo Court Installation by Gathered

At first glance, the sheer size of this chalk wall installation is statement-making in itself. As you get closer, you’ll notice the amount of intricate detail and effort that the team at Gathered Events and Rentals paid to each inch of this creation. Between the hand tied tassels, the Birch logs that Gathered’s team chopped and painted white, and the chalk drawing that doesn’t have even a chalk dust particle out of place, this stunning installation is handcrafted to perfection.

You’ll have to back way up to get this whole work of art in your camera frame, but trust us, it’s worth the steps. You can find this beautiful installation in our Buffalo Court, right between Bath & Body Works and francesca’s.

4. “Joy Starts Here”

When we plan for the holidays around West Acres, there’s one message that we always keep at the forefront of it all: joy. From the excitement of finding that perfect gift for a loved one to the cheeriness of our West Acres staff to our annual Share the Joy program, we take bringing joyfulness to the community pretty seriously around here. Which is why when we entertained the idea of bringing in 8-foot letters spelling out “Joy Starts Here”, it only made us wonder why we hadn’t done it before.

Round up your loved ones who bring you the most joy and snap a group photo in front of this giant photo op. Bonus points for a jumping photo!

5. The Fireplace

Our Food Court fireplace is one of our favorite hangout spots year-round, but during the holiday season it gets even cozier! When the fire starts roaring in November and the garland decor gets added a few weeks later, our fireplace quickly becomes one of the most festive spots to sit and relax.

For a photo op that warms your heart this holiday, take a trip through the Food Court to find the fireplace.
