The West Acres Artist-in-Residence program is a one-of-a-kind art experience for both the artist, Emily Williams-Wheeler and guests. It is the only program of its kind in the country. West Acres has opened a temporary pop-up working studio for Emily with a gallery providing mall guests a chance to interact with the artist and witness the development of her paintings. This art experience, part of West Acres’ Regional Showcase, provides another dimension to the already unique shopping experience at West Acres.
Originally from Iowa, Williams-Wheeler received her BA in Interior Design, with Distinction, from Iowa State University, in Ames. Her artwork has sold worldwide. Based in Fargo, North Dakota, she has exhibited widely throughout the tri-state area and across the country. She has been in many publications over the years and leads workshops around the region. She has been offering semi-private art enrichment and creative thinking classes for children and adults in her studio for more than 10 years. Williams-Wheeler has been selected as a touring artist for the state of ND by the North Dakota Art Gallery Association for late 2017-2018.
